The First Ukrainian International Bank founded in1991 with EBRD support, is the oldest banking institution in Ukraine. Before 2005, the bank focused on corporate sector only. Other than that, in 2006, due to its retail network growth and pursuant to the new strategy, it opted to intensify the end consumers operations in key cities. Nevertheless, the bank’s visual representation was tailored specifically to corporate communications. Rather aggressive retail environment could simply diffuse conservative complex and, thus, undistinguishable bank.

Solution

We performed rebranding to make the bank outstanding, recognizable and more comprehensible. First, we turned to a short name. Out the Primary Ukrainian Multinational Bank to the abbreviated PUMB. Second, we worked out a logo and the integrated visual identity system. Consequently, this corporate identity was implemented by other retail networking companies and is being used up to now.

Project was designed by Karandash, which became design department of FEDORIV in 2011.
